yesterday's concert with works by grieg, holst and elgar was a huge success and we were very fortunate to have the great young dutch violinist lisa jacobs (www.lisajacobs.nl) replace lucian-leonard raiciof as concert master (he has some shoulder problems, we all wish him a quick recovery!). she played griegs final 'rigaudon' at quite a pace but managed without any problem. poor igor bobylev (our principal viola who played the solo together with her) had to keep up but he really did great! afterwards keyzer with the musicians, friends and (potential) sponsors, what a night... 1 january 2012
we all wish you a very, very happy new year! peter is starting rehearsals for a new year's concert with the amsterdam symphony orchestra and nearly all of the amsterdam chamber orchestra colleagues will join him. the concert vernue is the beautiful grote kerk in naarden and the programme consists of works by beethoven (1st symphony and a concert aria called ah perfido) and after the interval all highlights of mozart's zaubeflöte (with wonderful soloists)

yesterday's concert was great and we got a lot of positive feedback from our audience. the 'après concert' in brasserie keyzer was very well attended and lasted until way past midnight...

next season (2012-2013) the amsterdam chamber orchestra will perform with some truly outstanding international soloists. master violinist augustin dumay wil join the orchestra in works by ravel (tzigane), chausson (poème) and dvořák (romance), living legend menahem pressler will play mozart (piano concerto no. 12) and great cellist antonio meneses will share his captivating interpretations of works by tchaikovsky (andante cantabile and the rococo variations) with us. we are thrilled about this prospect and are looking forward to working with these great artists!

today the amsterdam chamber orchestra has its first official concert at the concertgebouw. may this festive event be the first of many and may the foundation which is laid today be the start of something wonderful!
