Next season (2012-2013) the Amsterdam Chamber Orchestra will perform with some truly outstanding international soloists. Master violinist Augustin Dumay wil join the orchestra in works by Ravel (Tzigane), Chausson (Poème) and Dvořák (Romance), living legend Menahem Pressler will play Mozart (Piano Concerto no. 12) and great cellist Antonio Meneses will share his captivating interpretations of works by Tchaikovsky (Andante Cantabile and the Rococo Variations) with us. We are thrilled about this prospect and are looking forward to working with these great artists!

Today the Amsterdam Chamber Orchestra has its first official concert at The Concertgebouw. May this festive event be the first of many and may the foundation which is laid today be the start of something wonderful!

We just had our second rehearsal for the first concert of the Amsterdam Chamber Orchestra. Interesting to see how this group of wonderful musicians works together and bonds. Even though it’s sometimes difficult to get eleven individualists to sound as a group we grow into our parts and I’ve already heard some fantastic things. This bunch really promises something for the future!
